iPhone
Just picked up the new iPhone today. I bought the 8GB model. Unfortunately, I can't complete activation because iTunes is having problems globally.
I bought mine at an AT&T store, guessing that most diehards would go to the Apple store. I got in line at 5am and I was the 8th person in line.
It took over 3 hours of trying, but I was finally able to activate my phone.
After 3 days of use, I definitely love my iPhone.
Pros:
User interface
Aesthetics
MS Exchange support
Cons:
Battery life
Operating system seems a bit slow
No indicator light (to let you know you have a voicemail or SMS)
I wasn't sure if the personal data plan ($30/month) would give me Exchange support or if I'd have to pay for the enterprise data plan ($45/month). A few forums discussed this and most technical people believed that AT&T would not be able to block Exchange with the personal plan. I signed up for the personal plan and Exchange is working fine--unless of course AT&T is going to surprise me on my bill. You can find information on setting up your iPhone for Exchange email here.
Regarding battery life, it's not very good. I'm still trying to figure out what settings to change to prolong battery life. The first one I changed was to turn off Active Sync so now I have to manually download my email. It would be nice if Apple had a list of steps users could try to extend their battery life.
Just found a tip sheet on iPhone battery life.
