General Wesley Clark has announced

General Wesley Clark has announced his candidacy for President. You can also check out the NPR coverage here.

Despite any evidence supporting it, a Washington Post poll showed that 7 out of 10 Americans still believe that Saddam Hussein had a role in the 9/11 attacks. Do they all watch Fox News or listen to talk radio?

I finished Sea Biscuit the other day, it's a great book that I highly recommend. Now I can go watch the movie--although I'm expecting to be disappointed.

I just picked up a new book on XHTML, so hopefully you soon see a better website from me.

Once again, I've managed to

Once again, I've managed to delete a long blog before publishing it. Very frustrating.

It's been a while since I last posted. I'm still trying to figure out my daily schedule; balancing work, working out, eating dinner, reading, blogging, etc. It seems like the list of things I want or have to do keeps growing. When I was younger, I'd just cut back on my sleeping--that doesn't work so well anymore.

I finally finished Secrets. It's an import piece of American history that I believe every voter should read. It tells the story of how five successive presidential administrations lied to Congress and the American public in order to continue and even escalate the Vietnam War. It's especially apropos given recent revelations regarding some of the claims that the Bush Administration used to rally support for the war in Iraq. Perhaps the biggest example was the lie that Iraq had attempted to obtain uranium from Niger--Bush referenced this during his State of the Union Address. This story didn't make the headlines until some time after it was first reported. You can read about it in this New Yorker article. On the topic of our Iraq policy, Retired General and former Middle East Envoy for the Bush Administation, Anthony Zinni, recently critized the Bush Administration's policy and loosely compared the Iraq situation to the Vietnam War.
